Dr. Denise Rocha, visiting professor of the Liter21 group of the USC, carries out a postdoctoral research in collaboration with the Institute of Education Sciences (ICE) on the ludic-educational content of children’s books aimed at health promotion. To this end, she analyses the books used by the pedagogical education team in their activities, focusing on the learning that these books provide through reading within the educational activities developed for hospitalised children at the School of the Paediatric Service of the Hospital Clínico Universitario de Santiago de Compostela (CHUS) and at the Grupo de Apoio à Criança com Câncer – Bahia (GACC-BA). A project that will seek to identify five children’s books aimed at health education, and the activities proposed by the children’s teachers, in order to identify the knowledge acquired by the children about health, self-care, diseases, and medical procedures, as well as preventive attitudes in relation to your health through the books.
A research that seeks to offer solutions to the global challenges of our society, committed to research that develops culture, creativity and an inclusive society based on didactic and educational proposals that make this socio-cultural progress possible.
