On the 23rd and 24th of September, the 3rd Conference on Didactics of the Arts in Galicia today: Creating to Teach took place at the Faculty of Education and Sport Sciences of Pontevedra. These are part of the project Artistic Interactions in Galicia 2022 organised by the Real Academia Galega de Belas Artes, the University of Vigo, the University of A Coruña, the University of Santiago de Compostela, the Conservatory of Music of A Coruña, and the Conservatory of Music of Vigo.
The conference provided a space for reflection on artistic practices and their didactics, where different speakers and workshop participants from different fields (art, music, architecture, education, museum, pedagogy, research) shared their views, concerns and proposals for the transmission and education of the arts.
The museum and the exhibition as a didactic resource, music education, teacher training in the arts, classroom experiences… were some of the topics addressed through lectures, debates and conversations that were complemented with participatory actions, experimental workshops, and music.
The conference, an open and interdisciplinary space, is aimed at teachers, artists, trainers, and people interested in art and education. Professors Carol Gillanders and Carmen Franco belong to the organising committee of the conference, of which you can see below some images of their participation:
