On 15th September, the book O mundo e otras vésperas. Colaboracións en El Pueblo Gallego (1932-1936), by Álvaro Cunqueiro, edited by Armando Requeixo, member of the research group LITER21, was presented at the Couceiro bookshop in Santiago de Compostela.
Valentín García, General Secretary of Linguistic Policy, César Cunqueiro, son of the writer from Mindón, Arantxa Fuentes, lecturer at the USC and scholar of Cunqueiro’s work, and Marcos Calveiro, Director of Ediciones de la Editorial Galaxia, were also present at this event, accompanying the editor.
A summary of the contents of the book can be seen immediately:
“Knowing the indisputable importance of his work and its aesthetic and thematic possibilities, this volume wants to vindicate the configuration and understanding of Cunqueiro’s work as a poet, storyteller, playwright, essayist, critic and translator, both Pre and Post-war, and, above all, it wishes to highlight the journalistic work of the Mindonian, as brilliant and overflowing with imagination in these texts as in any of his books.”
