Abstract

My paper will begin by exploring Galician Children’s and Young People’s Literature before discussing María Victoria Moreno, the writer honoured on the 2018 Galician Literature Day, and her role in this literary system. I will attempt to show that a good part of her work (not very extensive but highly intense) was essential for the consolidation of Galician Children’s and Young People’s Literature. That is why Moreno is recognized as a pioneer in its construction and a promoter of a well-planned literary education from the basis of good literature whose aim is to create proficient readers.
