Graduate and PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Vigo. Her research career began in 2008 within the research group MODO (Modos del conocimiento artístico) of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Pontevedra with a Third Cycle grant from the Xunta de Galicia and continues with a pre-doctoral contract from the Xunta de Galicia. Between 2008-2015 she worked as an artist and researcher within the same research group, also teaching in the Bachelor of Fine Arts. She defended her doctoral thesis on the teaching of sculpture in the university setting in December 2015.
She is currently a member of the teaching staff of the Faculty of Education Sciences as a contracted doctor in the area of Didactics of Plastic Expression. She teaches on the Bachelor’s Degrees in Early Childhood and Primary Education, as well as on the Master’s Degree in Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate, Vocational Training and Language Teaching. Since 2015 she is part of the Liter21 group (GI-1839. Galician literature. Children’s and young adults’ literature. Literary, artistic, intercultural and educational research. Readings) of the University of Santiago de Compostela. Her lines of research are linked to education and contemporary art in the frontier spaces of interdisciplinarity, finding in the Children’s and Young Adults’ Literature the specific field where her research has converged in recent years. She has participated in conferences and has published articles, book chapters and reviews on Galician children’s and young adults’ literature. She recently completed a research stay at the Department of Languages and Cultures of the University of Aveiro (Portugal) on the creative and educational potential of materiality and visuals in children’s books.
