Abstract

It begins with very general references to what is understood by memory, imagination, children’s books, children’s and young adults’ literature and reading, a background that is considered necessary in order to then tackle the commentary, from a textual and artistic point of view, on the Histoire de Babar le petit éléphant, by Jean de Brunhoff. This is a classic work that, as it is shown, transcends time not only in its initial architecture but also through reeditions, versions, translations, rewritings, remakes, appropriations, adaptations to multiple languages, media and cultures, cinema, audiovisuals in general and interplanetary ones from the globo-spheric cloud (internet and social networks), some more volatile possibly due to the little time they leave to assimilate them.
