The purpose of this article is to get to know the impact the use of audiovisual materials has for the learning of traditional dances in the initial training of future teachers of primary education. For this reason, teachers from different fields (didactics of body and music expression) started to collaborate together with the students of the teaching degree in primary education with the aim of designing an innovative proposal based on knowledge pills, for the learning of traditional dances of the region where they live. For the study of the impact of this proposal in the training of future teachers, we draw upon a group discussion with three of the students who took part in the design of the teaching material as well as a questionnaire related to the relevance and usefulness of the teaching proposal. The questionnaire was answered by 48% of the students of the second year of the degree who had access to this resource. The results show that most of the students have used the videos and think they are quite/very useful, and assessed them positively. Furthermore, we can point out that collaborative work between different fields (body expression and music, in our case), promotes students’ understanding of interdisciplinary projects, as well as it helps promote the attainment of professional competencies.
