Abstract

MARTA MATA PEDAGOGY AWARD 2020. Debuxar o mundo emerges from the authors’ experience as artists and teachers in a teacher training college. Starting from drawing as a spontaneous, ubiquitous, democratic, and inherent human medium, they examine the artistic and educational practice of drawing. The book brings together the drawing proposals resulting from their artistic research carried out with infant and primary school children in collaboration with schools, families and groups interested in active methodologies. They are grouped into four sections: drawing again (designed for adults who work with children to recover drawing), telling by drawing (experiences where words and images coexist), playing by drawing (drawing through play) and raising awareness by drawing (activist drawing). All of them share as their main characteristic the emphasis on the idea of process (discovering open ways of working that do not seek a single result); experimenting with different materials, techniques, and artistic languages; favoring the creation of an imaginary and personal style, moving away from stereotyped responses; and educating in the aesthetic sense.
