Abstract

The members of the Thematic Research Network “Las Literaturas Infantiles y Juveniles del Marco Ibérico e Iberoamericano” (LIJMI), present a new volume full of essays, aimed at professionals in the field of mediation between books and reading to guide them in their reading recommendations for literary training. Return to the Classics proposes selections of works thus considered, both from universal children’s and young people’s literature and from the respective literatures that make up this research network. The lists of works included are the result of the application of common criteria, including literary quality and permanence and repercussion in the History of Children’s and Young People’s Literature, as well as the purpose of delimiting a possible canon of works of Children’s and Young People’s Literature in the different fields considered.
