Neira-Rodríguez, M., Roig Rechou, B.A., & Soto López, M.I. (coord.) (2021). A morte e as súas representacións na LIX ibérica e iberoamericana. Vigo: Edicións Xerais de Galicia.
The monograph “Death and its representations in Iberian and Iberoamerican literature on children’s and youth literature”, a new publication of the Thematic Research Network “The Children’s and Youth Literatures of the Iberian and Ibero-American Framework” (LIJMI), was created with the aim of offering theoretical support in their mediation work to teachers, library professionals, families, cultural animators, etc. The different studies it contains analyse how the theme of death is treated in children’s and young people’s literature in different areas (Spanish, Catalan, Galician, Portuguese, Basque, Brazilian, Chilean, and Mexican). The interested reader will also find in these pages a complete selection of titles belonging to different genres and publishing modalities in which death is approached from different perspectives, twenty-eight of which are the subject of a detailed commentary. A series of approaches to death (natural, violent, accidental…) that help to banish this subject from the realm of taboo.
