After reflecting on the importance of schoolyards and the modern educational trends that support the need of transformation of playgrounds, the present proposal aims to impulse critical thinking amongst students that will end with the enhancement of the space that they inhabit. In order to drive the reflections of schoolchildren, an illustrated book will be used. Specifically, we are talking about “El árbol de la Escuela” (Kalandraka 2016), a book that shows us the importance of Nature in schoolyards, those places where children spend great amount of their time.
