In this paper we will outline an experience carried out during the academic year 2014/15 with students of the Contexts and Artistic Processes in the Art Education course of the Teacher Degree in Kindergarten education. The idea behind this project was to offer them a practical exercise to internalize a way of working that promotes the interconnection between different subjects, to get familiar with the Project Method. The activity includes an alternative walk throughout the city of Santiago de Compostela, having the water as the common theme. The project comprises several hunts that, depending on the depth of study, can be transferred to different educational levels. With the development of this proposal we aim to initiate the child in the aspect of one’s own heritage, make him/her be part of the environment that surrounds him/her and stimulate his/her visual observation capacity; while at the same time creative challenges are proposed such as the visual recording by means of drawing and photography. Furthermore, this is accompanied by a research about historical, artistic or narrative issues. This paper offers a description of the proposal for teacher training students: guidelines, supporting material, the account of the development of the different activities undertaken and a small sample of the results: narratives, old and current photographs, drawings, description of the different tours, etc.
